GameSource Ready To Launch In Macau

Macau could have a new player in the cloud-based electronic gaming market. According to GGR Asia, Macau-based International Alliance Systems Ltd has confirmed that its data-cloud-based electronic game platform GameSource is “ready” for its debut in Macau.

The company has partnered with MGM Macau through which it would launch its electronic gaming platform. The Macau property is operated by the Chinese subsidiary of US-based casino and hospitality giant MGM Resorts International.

It is reported that the new electronic gaming platform – GameSource – would be launched through eight fixed terminals and four hand-held computer tablets. Alliance Systems’ chief executive officer Anthony told GGRAsia that these will be made available to players at the gambling facility.

“We’re ready to go on the floor. In the coming weeks it will be ready for play-for-cash [at MGM Macau],” Mr. Anthony said.

GameSource features an online platform that would allow land-based casinos access to a big portfolio of electronic games of which some would be slot games. The entire process would be driven by data-cloud making it seamless and secure.

Once casino operators have access to the library of games, they will be able to select games available in the portfolio and which they would want to offer to their direct customers. To begin with, the company will have seven games at the terminals and devices that were being deployed at MGM Macau. Of the seven games made available, some are “Chinese-themed slot games”.

The company has also said that GameSource will be in charge of the compliance aspect, all the reporting, all the metering and that the game developers no longer need to put so much effort.

“[At MGM Macau] You will see 12 terminals: eight of them are fixed terminals and the other four are Wi-Fi [-connected] tablets. We are not using the patrons’ equipment [hand-held devices]. We’ll have dedicated equipment placed [at a designated area on] the floor. So that equipment has our security measures, and are controlled,” Mr. Ip told GGRAsia.

It is also reported that the company had been working with other gambling operators in the region and had already initiated a “play-for-points” trial back in 2018. It is only after a successful series of trials that they are launching GameSource at MGM Macau.

The company has also invested over $50 million in development and compliance-related costs on the GameSource platform.

Plans To Launch To In Neighboring Countries

The company plans to launch GmaeSource in neighboring countries that have regulated gambling markets. Speaking to Asia Gaming Brief earlier in the year, Managing Director Lam Iao had said that it also plans to roll out in Cambodia, Vietnam and the U.S.

He confirmed that in Vietnam, the system will be deployed by Hoiana. Last month, Junket operator Suncity Group has confirmed that it will launch its Vietnam integrated resort in the first quarter of the coming year.

The project is a joint venture between Suncity, VMS Investment Group, and Vietnam’s VinaCapital Group.
